The 2020 Subaru Forester enjoys innovations introduced last year. Built on the new Subaru Global Platform, it retains many essential assets of the outgoing generation, but is now quieter, more comfortable and more cost-efficient, and still endowed with great capacities.
Since it is a popular SUV, the 2020 Nissan Rogue is a direct competitor of the 2020 Forester. SUV lovers in the Montreal or Laval area then have a choice between two vehicles offering quality and driving enjoyment.
The Forester offers an incredible array of functionalities for your money. In terms of safety, for example, it includes the EyeSight Pre-Collision system, the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and is automatically offered with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility for your smart phone. Which is sometimes convenient to find your favourite addresses in the busier Downtown or West Island.
The 2020 Rogue compact SUV also proposes its own safety system, called Nissan Safety Shield. As with the EyeSight system, it adds automatic emergency braking and a lane departure warning system, as well as blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. Other systems, included in the Subaru, are however optional for the Nissan.
Among other Subaru advantages, let’s mention the presence of the SI-Drive engine management system in the Sport version, and the enhanced X-mode, a function allowing the Subaru utility vehicle to better manage the difficulties of off-road exploration, or on the roughest roads. All of this paired, of course, with the unique Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system of the Subaru family.
The Nissan SUV, for its part, also features an all-wheel drive, but does not offer any advanced management modes.
The Rogue and the Forester both provide a long list of qualities. Both also offer good fuel economy ratings, their price is affordable, their exterior style expressive and their interior configuration versatile. But the Subaru SUV is more spacious, offers more in its entry-range variant and provides a higher ground clearance, giving it better access to rougher roads.
